Okot was part of the commendable Mbale Heroes Big League squad that guided the team back to the Uganda Premier League (UPL).

The midfielder was closing-in on a move to Bright Stars, when Arua Hill came in and swiftly convinced him to their side.

The Surgeons intended to keep Okot for their UPL mission in Mbale, but the Acholi Province player easily chose a move back home, to Gulu where he comes from.

Starting next season, Arua Hill will host their games at Pece Stadium, Gulu, while Layibi playground has been secured as the training pitch.

“After a season, we shall change the club name as it is in the FUFA rules. Our ambition is to get promoted to UPL in the first season of asking,” Arua Hill newly appointed PRO James Obalo revealed.

With Okot’s commendable qualities, he can ably help stabilize the team’s midfield to acquire the results they desire.

The player has the attributes of a proper ‘deep six’ – a deep lying midfielder with admirable physique, ability to win back possession efficiently, vision and passing the ball effectively.

Okot has also previously played for Adjumani Town Council, Kitara FC, Onduparaka FC and Katwe United.
