Uganda Women’s National Basketball team, the Gazelles, will face off against the Westmont Warriors in a friendly match on Thursday at the Lugogo Indoor Arena.
The Westmont Warriors, hailing from Westmont College, a private Christian liberal arts college in Montecito, California, USA, will meet the Gazelles for the second time since their 2015 encounter, which saw Uganda triumph 56-50 at the same venue.
This friendly comes on the heels of the Gazelles’ recent training camp in Germany, where they beat the Republic of Ireland in both friendly matches.

The match against Westmont is a crucial preparation for the Gazelles as they gear up for the 2025 FIBA Zone V Women Afrobasket Qualifiers, scheduled for February 2025.
The team will be without head coach Goran Lojo, with assistant coach Nicholas Natuhereza stepping up to lead the squad.
The 11-player roster for this friendly includes all players from the recent Germany training camp.

Squad – Jane Asinde, Hope Akello, Aber Priscilla, Bridget Aber, Shilla Lamunu, Rose Mary Amaniyo, Lydia Babirye, Perus Nyamwenge, Longom Becky, Sharon Kirabo, Shakira Nanvubya
