Super 8: SC Villa Seek To Make Amends

Wednesday, August 7
*BUL Vs Maroons – Lugogo, 5pm (1-1)
*SC Villa Vs FUFA Select, 8pm (1-2)

SC Villa will hope to make amends as they seek to overturn a first leg deficit against a FUFA Select team in the FUFA Super Eight on Wednesday at Lugogo.

The Uganda Premier League defending champions lost 2-1 last week on Saturday, and at least a 1-0 win can send them through on away goals rule.

Arnold Odongo gave Villa the advantage but Fufa select team responded through goals from Isaac Ogwang and Godfrey Ssekibengo to seal a hard fought victory.

We’ve thoroughly analyzed our performance in the first leg, identified the areas where we fell short, and worked diligently to correct our mistakes,” said Villa coach Morley Byekwaso.

“With valuable lessons learned and a renewed sense of purpose, we’re determined to make amends and turn the tables in our favor.

“Our objective goes beyond just securing a win; we’re committed to delivering an improved performance that will serve as a testament to our growth and preparation for the prestigious CAF Champions League.”

SC Villa will be banking on pint-sized playmaker Patrick Jonah Kakande, to make a difference but Hamis Semugera, Ronald Sekiganda and Reagan Mpande will not feature.

The winner of this tie will meet Vipers SC in the semifinals after the Venoms eliminated NEC FC.
