The Fortebet Real Star Sports Awards Agency has once again recognized and rewarded outstanding athletes, celebrating the best performers from the month of July.
Joseph Ssewali (Football), Aaron Ofoyrwoth (Rugby), Sulaiman Ssegawa (Boxing) and Sarah Nazziwa (Para-Badminton) were the recipients at a function held at Lazio, sponsored by Fortebet and Jude Colour Solutions.
Ssewali emerged as the top football performer, playing a pivotal role for Ssaza Ssingo in the Buganda Masaza Cup tournament.
He scored three crucial goals and provided two assists, ensuring Ssingo’s unbeaten streak.
He outshined contenders Robert Ssewanyana and Enoch Kabuuka to clinch the award.
Ofoyrwoth was honored for his stellar performance with Rugby Cranes, leading the side to its fourth Rugby Africa Cup Men’s Sevens title in Mauritius.
Ofoyrwoth was named the MVP of the tournament’s second round, scoring six tries, including the decisive one in a thrilling 20-17 victory over South Africa.
Ssegawa made headlines in the boxing world by defeating America’s Ruben Villa to win the WBC Silver belt.
The American-based Ugandan boxer was recognized for his remarkable achievement, surpassing fellow nominees Innocent Amoko and Moses Kimera, who also performed admirably in the Uganda Boxing Champions League.
Nazziwa shone in para-badminton, winning a silver medal at the Uganda International Para-badminton event held in Lugogo.
Despite losing the final to Brazil’s Carvalho Da Silva, Nazziwa’s performance stood out, earning her the award over competitors Flavia Basuuta and Sumin Mutesi.
