Main Suspect in URA Staff Murder Apprehended

Police have arrested a key suspect in the murder of Ngorok John Bosco, a Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) employee who was found fatally stabbed on August 3, 2024. Ngorok, a 30-year-old staff member in the Domestic Tax Department, was discovered with severe stab wounds to his neck and head along the road from Kitooro to Entebbe International Airport. Despite being rushed to a Grade B hospital by the police, he was pronounced dead just 20 minutes later.

Following a swift investigation, authorities identified and apprehended Dominic Alinga, a priest from the Catholic parish in Irir, Nakapiripirit. Alinga had recently been suspended from his duties by the bishop due to allegations of embezzling six million Ugandan shillings in offertory funds. The arrest of Alinga has sparked further speculation, as he was known to have had prior conflicts with Ngorok, who was reportedly involved in financial audits affecting local church funds.

ACP Kituuma Rusooke, the police spokesperson, stated, “We have apprehended Dominic Alinga in connection with the murder of Ngorok John Bosco. Investigations are ongoing to determine his role in this grave crime. Once our investigation is complete, we will decide on the appropriate legal action.”

In addition to questioning Alinga, police are seeking to unravel the motive behind the murder. They are exploring whether the alleged financial disputes played a role in the crime. The authorities are urging anyone with further information or who might have witnessed suspicious activity around the time of the murder to come forward.

As the investigation progresses, the community remains on edge, awaiting answers to this tragic event. Police have promised a thorough investigation and are committed to ensuring justice for Ngorok John Bosco.
