Omedi’s impact didn’t stop there. He assisted Jude Ssemugabi, who put Kitara ahead 2-1.
However, KCCA responded when Bright Anukani converted a penalty after Etienne Katenga was fouled in the box.
Just five minutes into the second half, Omedi again set up Ssemugabi for a close-range tap-in, restoring Kitara’s lead.
KCCA’s Mohamood later equalized with a header, but the team couldn’t find the two additional goals needed to progress.
Kitara edged KCCA 4-3 on aggregate, having won the first leg 1-0 at Lugogo.
Kitara now awaits the winner of the Maroons versus defending champions BUL to determine their semifinal opponent.
