Wanderers Cricket Club were the biggest winners of match day seven following their 107-run victory against Nyakasura B in the National Men’s T20 League.
The two sides met in a double header at Entebbe Cricket Oval, and Wanderers won both games, but it is in the second game that they battered their opponents.
A couple of players stood out for Wanderers in that game. Sharif Suleman scored 58 off 48 while Savtoj Shammi registered 47. Savtoj also picked two wickets, conceding just 10 runs off his three Overs.
The victory keeps Wanderers second in Group B with 8 points, two behind leaders Patidar. They remain the only team in the group yet to drop points.
Nyakasura also lost to Patidar. The four losses keep the side bottom of the group with zero point. Nyakasura and SKLPS are the only two teams in the group yet to win any game.
In Group C, Ceylon Lions maintained their 100% run with a 35-run and 7 wicket wins against Ismaili Community. They lead their group with a maximum eight points.
Avengers thrashed Soroti City in both games in Group D. The side won the first game by 79 runs (D/L) and the second by 78 runs to ascend to the top of the group. They are level on points with Nyakasura, but lead the group due to a better net run rate.
With now two losses to their name, Soroti City remain third in the group standings with four points.
Rounders beat JACC by 5 wickets to better their chances of qualifying from Group C. The win leaves them third in the table, but with same number of points (6) with JACC who are placed second.
